About the artist...
At this point in her life Karyn Scordo expresses her existence and evaluates her moods on canvas. There is no real reason why. The colors and textures are spontaneously drawn from her childhood growing up in Goshen, New York.  She first remembers painting at 11 but suspects she's done so since the womb.
With liberal arts and human science degrees, an artist is what God made her to be. Karyn's work is honest, perhaps fearless. It expresses no pretense or apology. She is aware of her place in the world. She sees color for what it is, not symbolic. She uses an abstract approach to convey what she sees and feels, as demonstrated in her collection of mixed media cityscapes and portraits.
Most of her work can be seen in Miami.  Scordo's work is part of the Urgency Emerging Emergency at Serious Studios in Miami's Design District. Her first formal exhibit was at Serious Studios in December 2002 during Art Basel Miami Beach. She was among the eight artists featured in the debut of Urgency Emerging Emergency, a monthly venue of emerging artists worldwide. Scordo's work has also been featured in Gallery Guide.
