and what if yours were so beautiful
that they got the spray and cleaned you
and dressed you
and placed you so exactly perfectly
and then they lit your lights amidst champagne
and confetti and classical music. and cars stopped
and people came up to your window
stare at you
while you pretended to ignore them
and they started to speak
and they started to tell you the personal things
first in whispers then loud yelling the dark things
the hidden things inside...
(for we are all just hypocrites waiting to be uncovered. word)
and imagine if you were so purposefully stunning
that a person came up to right in your face
to take your picture. an ugly american
(without your permission)
so ugly in fact, he is free from confidences.
free from the beauty of the ugly confessions.
which is why
sometimes
the speaking truth is so easy to avoid...
because it is wasted on the wastefully beautiful
who are in a window
listening but pretending to ignore you.
